Nancy J. Vaughn

Nancy J. Vaughn, age 96 passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in Carrollton, Texas. Nancy was born November 3, 1924 in Liberty, Texas to Fred W. Harris and Leona F. Hutto. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Lloyd Calvin Vaughn, at Southland Memorial Park in Grand Prairie, Texas.

After graduating from high school, Nancy worked for the largest military base (Camp Howze) as a secretary during WWII giving assignments. She was living in Gainesville, Texas where she met Lloyd, a Navy man, through her family. The two were married and moved to California until he was deployed and Nancy went to live with her family. Once Lloyd was discharged they started their family in California and settled back in Grand Prairie, Texas in 1949. Their first son, Bobby, was born in California. Their second son, Gary, in Texas.

Nancy was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church for 50 years. She retired as an accounting clerk for the Army Air Force Exchange Service. She enjoyed yard work and anything crafty. She loved sweets and cookies, was funny and humorous but had a serious side. Nancy made jewelry, sewed blankets, painted pottery and loved to crochet.

Nancy is survived by her son, Gary and his wife, Cheridah; and two grand children, Micah Vaughn (Lori) and Kris Vaughn (Leticia).
