Nita P. Long, 83, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away June 25, 2016. She was born in Palmer, Texas to John and Evie Pate on December 24, 1932.
Nita was a long time resident of Grand Prairie and also a long time active member of Indian Hills Baptist Church in Grand Prairie. She met Gentry Long through a friend while he was stationed locally in the Air Force. They were married October 15, 1955. Nita enjoyed sewing, quilting baby blankets and burp clothes. She loved to laugh and joke. A joy to be around she will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gentry L. Long Jr.
She is survived by her children: Randy Long, Carol Moody and her husband, Gary; grandchildren: Kirk and Alycia Watson, Brent and Ashley Gartrell, Taylor and Kelcie Moody; great grandchildren Kade and Kynzie Watson, Grant and Kennedy Gartrell, Eastin Moody, Braxtin Moody and Gunner Moody; sister Maxine McGahey and brother in-law Andy Sieg, as well as many nephews and nieces and many loving friends.
