

Norma Elizabeth Senter Pittman, 92, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away November 2, 2014. She was born in Ardmore, Ok on May 17, 1922 to Avery and Sarah Senter. Norma married Carl Benton Pittman on February 14, 1942 in Love County at preacher’s house. She and Carl grew up together. She was best friends with 2 of his younger sisters, and he was always the one to drive them around. She was a loving wife and mother, who valued tradition and her faith. Norma was very independent; she still drove into her 90’s, walked a mile every day and worked outside in her yard. She was very down to earth with a clean sense of humor. While he husband was still alive they enjoyed traveling through the U.S. in their RV. They always had dogs, and were very active and healthy. Norma loved going to Whataburger with her sons and great niece Christy, she also loved Blue Bell Ice Cream and watching birds. She was a wonderful example for her family, full of consideration and well organized. She loved the color Pink, enjoyed painting landscapes and was a wonderful cook. One of the best dishes she made was her turkey and dressing. She was a member of the Eastern Stars and a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie for about 68 years. Her passions in life were her church and her family.She is survived by her sons Carl D. “Danny” Pittman and his wife Beverly of Fairfield, Texas, David Pittman of Cudahy, Wisconsin, Charles and his wife Phyllis Pittman of Sanger, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
