Norman enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955 in Pittsburgh and was originally stationed at Charleston Air Force Base in South Carolina He retired after more than 20 years in April 1980. He reached the grade of Master Sergeant, specializing in Security Service utilizing Morse Code and Radio Operations. Norman was trained in Survival Courses, such as Water Survival and Jungle Survival. Norman received many medals and commendations during his 20 years in the Air Force, including the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Good Conduct Medal with Four Oak Leaf Clusters, AF Outstanding Unit Award with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal with Bronze Loop, Longevity Service Ribbon with Five Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Norma Fraser Lee.
He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Lee; grandchildren, Joel, Emily, Chloe, Taylor, Allie and Paige; and one great grandchild, Isom Bradley White.
A Celebration of Life for Norman will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street in Grand Prairie.
