Oanh Kim Thuy Nguyen, 51, of Grand Prairie, Texas, peacefully passed away on May 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on July 24, 1974, in Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam, Oanh was raised alongside her brother. From a young age, she developed the values that would guide her throughout her life: kindness, perseverance, humility, and an unwavering devotion to family. Those who knew her will remember her not for seeking attention, but for the countless quiet ways she cared for others.
Oanh dedicated much of her life to creating a loving home for her family. She married Tony Nguyen, and together they built a life centered on love, sacrifice, and commitment. She was a devoted wife and a proud mother to her three children, Khang, Cindy, and Tammy. Her family was her greatest joy, and she worked tirelessly to provide for them, encourage them, and support them through every stage of life.
Whether through a home cooked meal, a thoughtful conversation, or a simple act of kindness, Oanh had a special way of making people feel welcomed and cared for. Her kitchen was often the heart of the home, filled with the aromas of family recipes, laughter, and cherished memories. She found joy in bringing loved ones together and took great pride in caring for those around her.
Her Buddhist faith was an important source of peace and strength throughout her life. She enjoyed attending temple services and participating in religious celebrations, finding comfort in the values of compassion, gratitude, and mindfulness that guided her daily life.
For many years, Oanh worked as a nail technician, where she formed lasting friendships with coworkers and clients alike. She was known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and warm personality. To many, she was more than a technician, she was a trusted friend, a listener, and a source of encouragement.
In 2024, Oanh began a difficult battle with cancer. Throughout more than two years of treatment and challenges, she faced each obstacle with remarkable courage and determination. Even during her hardest days, she continued to think of others before herself. Her strength inspired everyone around her and left a lasting impression on all who witnessed her journey.
Oanh is survived by her beloved husband, Tony Nguyen; her son, Khang Vo; her daughters, Cindy Nguyen and Tammy Nguyen, and many of her families in Vietnam, extended family members; and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, generosity, and love.
Though her time with us was far too short, Oanh’s legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply and in the many lives she touched along the way. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, selfless heart, quiet strength, and unwavering love. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A Visitation will be held at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
