Opal Dean Pendleton

Service: 10 a.m. Thursday at Freetown Church of Christ. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will receive friends 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home.

Rest in peace, our beloved Opal Pendleton.

Opal was born Dec. 24, 1930, in Blossom. She spent most of her adult life in Weatherford. There she worked in the library at Weatherford Junior College.

She was a Christian woman who was a member of Freetown Church of Christ. There she met her husband, Olin Pendleton, whom she adored. They were married for five years when he passed away. Opal had several friends and was loved dearly in her community in the Wright Drive Apartments.

Survivors: Children, Wanda Sue Summers of DeSoto, Debra Watson of Bedford and Harold Johnston of Duncanville. She was known as Opal Grandma by her grandchildren, Brandye Koerner, Brent Moore, Stephanie Moore Spurrier, Heather Koerner, Matthew Aguilar and Micheal Aguilar; and great-grandchildren, Rowdy Altum, Gage Wells, Noah Moore, Micah Moore, Kelsey Spurrier, Hannah Moore and Leah Moore.
