With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow, we announce the passing of Pablo “Paul” Pena, who took his final breath on June 12, 2026, at the age of 75. A man of extraordinary pride, strength and devotion, he was an undeniably beloved father, brother, uncle, and Marine Corps veteran.
Born on August 15, 1950 in Satin, Texas, Pablo was the son of parents Santos Pena and Macaria Martinez. Pablo answered the call to serve his country on February 4, 1971, enlisting in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 20. He completed over 5 years of service as a rifleman and served an active-duty tour in Okinawa, Japan. He received the honors of a National Defense Service Medal and a Rifle Marksman Badge, and was honorably discharged with the title of Corporal on November 16, 1976.
But those who knew Pablo best will tell you the service never really ended. He brought the same discipline, dedication, and sense of duty home to his family and work that occupied his later years. Pablo had a rewarding career at Texas Instruments/Raytheon for more than 40 years, receiving numerous accolades for his contributions to the company over the decades.
Outside of work, Pablo was known for his love of golf, Tejano music, old Western movies, and his endless devotion to his Texas Rangers and Baylor Bears. Needless to say that upon his arrival, heaven better be equipped with a properly wired VCR, a working cassette player, an excellent sports package, and endless 9AM tee times!
Pablo is survived by his daughter Courtney Lingsweiler (Pena), brothers Roy Pena, Jose Pena, and Steve Pena, sisters Monica Salazar, Delores Martinez, Gloria Martinez, and Frances Gonzales, and numerous nephews and nieces who brought joy and meaning to his life daily.
Though the world feels a little dimmer without him in it, we carry his memory with us in our loyalty, fierce independence, and in the way we always show up for the people we love. Pablo's legacy is one of service to his country, career, family, and friends. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and inspiration to those who follow in his footsteps. He will be missed by many.
