Funeral services for Patricia Ann Marks will be held on January 16th at 12:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church, 2001 W Pioneer Pkwy, Grand Prairie, TX 75051. Graveside Service will follow the funeral between 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Moore Memorial Gardens on 1219 N. Davis Dr. Arlington, TX 76012.
Patricia Ann Norman born to James Paul Norman and Birdie Ellen Ryle in Riverside, California on August 17, 1935. Patricia graduated from Oxnard Union High School in 1954.
Patricia was married to Marion Harold Marks on November 19, 1954; and they remained married until the day of Marion's death, February 6, 2017. They were married for 62 years. However, as they began their life together in Oxnard, California, they had Glenda Marie on February 15, 1956. 1959 brought change to the Marks family and the United States, because of Sputnik. The Marks family was relocated to Dallas, Texas because of Marion's Aerospace career with Vought Systems. In 1962, the Marks family moved to their current location at 413 Dorris Dr. Grand Prairie, Texas. Eleven years passed since the birth of Glenda Marie, and on March 7, 1967 after Patricia had undergone gall bladder surgery in the previous year, Steven Wayne was born.
Patricia and the Marks family became members of Trinity Baptist Church while the church was still located on 314 Skyline Rd. She was active in children ministries as both Sunday School teacher and Nursery Care Provider. She remained faithful in the Nursery serving countless children over the course of her ministry until she was no longer able to serve because of health issues. Patricia was also an active PTA member in her children's schools and as Home Room Mother. Her hobbies also included membership in a croquet club. Many children were touched by the caring heart that Patricia Marks had.
February 28, 2018 marks the last stage of Patricia's life after she had fallen and broken her T7 vertebrae. From March until the first week of January 2019, Patricia battled with illness, complications, improvements, and further setbacks, in and out of the hospital and rehab units. At home during this difficult time of life, Patricia had her daughter Glenda, son Steven, granddaughter Kourtney, and daughter-in-law Mary, providing around the clock care for her every need, until she had to be transferred to the Vitas Hospice Care Unit January 5th . Patricia passed away the following Thursday while her loving family was in transit to see her. Patricia Loved the Lord and finally went home to be with Him.
Patricia Ann Marks is survived by her daughter Glenda Marie Aaron, son Steven Wayne Marks with his wife Mary Jo Marks, grandchildren Nicole Marie Palaile, Kayla Jo Holman, Kourtney Elizabeth Sue Marks, and other family and friends.
Patricia is preceded in death by her husband Marion Harold Marks and grandson Richard Michael Palaile.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home 2951 S. Belt Line Road Grand Prairie, TX 75052. The family of Patricia Ann Marks wishes to thank members of Trinity Baptist Church and Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home.
