

Patrick Lee Burkey, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend fell asleep in death on Monday December 23rd, 2024 at the age of 74 after a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by family and friends when he passed.
Patrick was born September 13, 1950 in Maquoketa, Iowa where he was raised with his sisters.
Patrick was a Veteran, after graduating High School he joined the Marines and served during the Vietnam War. He was a Rifle Marksman, Rocket Launcher and Flame Thrower, he received a Medal of Good Conduct and a National Defense Service Medal. After the war he continued to serve in the Marine Reserves.
Patrick spent most of his professional career as a Lineman/Journeyman and worked in Dallas putting in electrical lines for the railway system. He was a member and officer of the Local IBEW 20, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers until his death.
Patrick enjoyed his family and friends, riding his Harley, boating, camping, horseback riding, scuba diving, hunting and his pets. Patrick was a Patriot that loved and served his country.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Margaret Burkey, his daughter, Patsy Burkey, and his sister, Hazel Kleeman, and husband, Allen Kleeman. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Joyce Burkey, his sister, Mary Kay Clark, his daughters, Tammy Burkey and Nicole Burkey, his son, Chad Burkey, wife, Mary Grace, Chris Burkey, wife Jessica, Clint Burkey, wife Erin, and many grand children, great -grand- children, nieces and nephews.
Patrick is already greatly missed by his family, friends and pets.
