From his earliest days in Gary and through his years connected to Westside High School, Patrick’s life reflected a steady, caring presence—one rooted in devotion to the people and responsibilities entrusted to him.
Patrick dedicated 20 years of service as a government employee with the TSA, retiring after a career marked by reliability and commitment. His work was one more way he quietly demonstrated the kind-hearted spirit and steadfast devotion that defined him.
Patrick’s love for hands-on work and simple, meaningful pastimes was evident in the things he enjoyed most: billiards, fishing, car repair and upgrading, woodworking, and carpentry. In these interests, many saw the same patient care and generous attention that he offered to others—an enduring reflection of a beloved man who found purpose in both craft and connection.
Patrick is survived by two daughters, Deaona P. Hunter and Nicole A. Hazelett; step grandchildren, Aniyah Black, C.J and Kayne Hunter; nieces, Briana Hazelett and Chandra McPhearson; nephews, Kedrian McPhearson and Jonathan Hazelet; and additional family members Sonya Hazelett and Willie Hazelett, Clinton Hazelett.
He is reunited with his family members Melvin McPhearson and Titus Hazelett.
Patrick’s life, defined by devotion and a kind heart, leaves a lasting imprint. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
