Pat Shay was a singularly unique character with more diverse interests than time to pursue them. His lifelong career as a pharmacist belied his avocation as a certified welder and HVAC repair technician. Pat’s continued education included photography and astronomy. He logged hundreds of miles hiking remote parts of the USA, recording the natural beauty of our land with an occasional stop to pan for gold. He will be missed, but the stories will live on about a very interesting, solitary character who once met, was not soon forgotten.
Pat was born on August 23, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee, to Glenn Irene (Cowan) Shay and Vincent Joseph Shay. He is survived by his two brothers, Mike Shay (Beverly June) and Jim Shay (Carol), niece and nephews Brenna Shay, Chris Shay, Tracy Shay, and Mack Shay, and several cousins. Pat was a LifeGift organ donor. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
