Patsy Hanson Cunningham

September 8, 1933April 21, 2021

With profound sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Patsy Hanson Cunningham, 87, of DeSoto, Texas. Mom passed away at her home on April 21, 2021, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all that knew and loved her. She was born on September 8, 1933, to Ardis and Velma Hanson.

On October 10, 1952, Pat married the love of her life, Don Cunningham. They were just a few weeks short of being able to celebrate 68 wonderful years together when Don passed in September last year. Pat is survived by son Jerry Cunningham and wife Donna of Bennett, Colorado: daughter Kim Cunningham Simmons and husband Vance of DeSoto, Texas: granddaughters Angi Cunningham Mudd and husband Doug, Ashley Cunningham Smith and husband Vernon, grandson Justin Simmons and wife Jenny; and 5 great grandchildren Bryson Smith, Bryahna Smith, Brooklynn Smith, Jack Mudd, and Grace Mudd.

While Pat really enjoyed spending time with Don in Las Vegas, there was not anything more important to her than spending time with family.

Pat spent 37 years of her work career at LTV which is now Lockheed Martin in Grand Prairie.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Cemetery requires all guests in attendance to wear masks during the service.

We are saddened at the passing of Pat, as we were when her beloved husband Don, passed away. We looked forward to our weekly breakfasts with them at the Pioneer, which was our habit for many years. We were friends since high school in Grand Prairie. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

In loving memory,
Dee and Marvin Burton

Pat and Don were our neighbors for over 40 years, and we surely missed them when they left in recent years. They were always available if we needed anything, and were both such loving, kind people. We're so sorry that they are both gone now, but know that their family has wonderful memories to comfort them forever.
