Richard was my cousin, however that is just a title, he was actually the brother I never had. Richard was one of the strongest people I knew, he had this laugh that was just contagious, and you could never get through a conversation with him, without him interrupting. It was almost like he was too excited he couldn't wait. I will defiantly miss all the conversations that we had, and all of the advice that he continued to give me. Even though I am heartbroken right now, I know that he is in a better place, and not suffering anymore. I feel blessed to have had him in my life for as long as I did, and I am thankful to him for all he taught me.

Richard was my uncle and we didnt see each for some time but the memories I have of him feel like I saw him all the time. I remember as a kid my parents would always visit his mother Cynthia and Richard and Jo Angel shared a room together and I remember walking into their room and Richard would always greet me with a smile. I will always remember as a kid he was always happy and always had a smile on his face and he just made the mood so much better with his charismatic energy. As I got older I would bump into Richard from time to time because we lived in the same apartment complex back in 2005 and he was always coming home and I was always leaving home when we would cross paths and there was Richard with a big smile and his hand up hi waiving me to stop so we could talk. I will never forget how he always had a mustang throughout the years and I feel like now whenever I see a mustang it will remind me of him. I love you Richard and I know you're smiling down on us from heaven.

Richard was a friend of mine through Robert Pursell from 2014.
We talked a lot over the phone and in the office, he loved going to work (early) I would call him or he would call me early before anyone else showed up so we could chat about anything and everything but most of the time we started with the cowboys and ended with the cowboys with everything else in between.
Your endless smile your love to your family and hard work ethic will live forever.
Will miss you but never forget you my friend

Choosing richard as my godfather is one of the best decisions my parents have ever made. I’m glad I spent lots of my childhood with you, I’m so thankful for all the memories you have left me with. I really do appreciate every single thing he did for me. Thanks for taking the time out of the day to always check up on me. I am glad you got to meet my daughter Emma, I will make sure she knows how great of a human being you were. From the jokes he would tell to the really great advice he gave me, Richard will truly be missed. I will always love you richard, our guardian angel. 💙

Richard, we, Joe and I remember you as a Humble, Respectful friend. Your Kindness, and Friendliness would light up a room with your Beautiful Smile. We’re so Happy that Joe and I got to see you at your Tia Ana’s house for Thanksgiving, two years ago. I also got to talk to you at the hospital. You come from a Great, Loving Family, with the Main Seeds that began with your Grandparents. Now, you are in the presence of Our Heavenly Father, Mother Mary and your Grandparents. My sweet nephew Richard, was a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, father and friend. Richard had a heart of gold, wouldn’t let people run over him but would surely lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a devout worker, putting forth his best always, somewhat of a workaholic, but, once he found the love of his life, Rosenda, and they started having a family, it was clear he would put them 1st, with worklife being a close 2nd. He loved his family dearly and I know he was definitely a planner by nature. I truly admired his diligence and determination to take care of family/home in preparation for his departure from this earth. He and I had a special bond, so much that I referred to him as “the son I never had” and he would nearly always end his texts with “the son you never had.” In closing, I will say I am heartbroken, but the fact that he will no longer be in pain, makes my heart happy. He is our guardian angel now and that alone comforts me. 💙
