Richard graduated from high school in Dallas, TX in 1963. At 18 years old he began a career in aerospace for LTV on Jefferson. His work station was next to stairs where he would watch Sandra Soward. They were married on October 25, 1968.
Richard settled with his family in Grand Prairie in February of 1972. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed watching the Texas Ranges. He was a member of UAW and had a passion for woodworking, singing, old western movies and Elvis. Richard was reserved until you got to know him. He had a great sense of humor, always telling jokes and stories.
Richard was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He could be stubborn at times but was very joyful and loved giving hugs. He retired from LTV in 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Rowe; children: Jeffrey Rowe and his wife Teresa, Debra Ruth and her husband Don; grandchildren: Brandon Tort, Stephanie Tort, Seth Rowe and Trent Rowe.
