

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Richard Lee St. John, who left this world peacefully and surrounded by family in Mansfield, Texas September 3, 2025. Born on December 14, 1949, in Moscow, Idaho, Richard lived a life full of love, dedication, and passion, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Richard was the beloved son of Ernest A. St. John and Wilma Ethredge Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Michael A. St. John and daughter Brenda St. John. Richard’s legacy continues through his devoted wife, Enedina St. John, whom he married on January 23, 1985. They shared a beautiful marriage that spanned forty years, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Richard leaves behind his sons Richard W. St. John, Jose Prieto, Erik St. John, and Bryan St. John. He also leaves behind his daughters, Kimberly St. John and Vanessa Ortego, who will carry forward his spirit in their hearts. Richard was a proud grandfather to his grandchildren: Gabriel Currier, Alyssa Prieto, Kruz Prieto, and Ava Prieto, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Richard had a varied and fulfilling professional life, having worked in several industries, including IT and Security. His educational journey began at San Gorgonio High School, from which he graduated in 1968. He also served his country honorably in the United States Navy Reserve, Army National Guard, and United States Army Reserve, embodying the values of dedication and service.
In his leisure time, Richard found joy in hobbies that spanned a wide range of interests. He was an avid fan of computer games and enjoyed immersing himself in the pages of a good book. His love for music was evident in his adoration for classic bands such as The Beach Boys, The Beatles, and The Righteous Brothers, as well as the timeless tunes of Johnny Cash. He was an ardent fan of the USC Trojans, playing computer games such as Candy Crush, and enjoyed the flavors of Diet Pepsi. A unique aspect of Richard's character was his signature USC hat, adorned with an array of pins that reflected his vibrant personality and interests.
Richard is survived by his loving sister, Judy St. John-Tucker, who has shared in the joys and challenges of their lives together. His family and friends will forever remember him not only for his accomplishments but for the kindness, warmth, and laughter he brought into their lives.
Funeral services will be held to honor Richard's life and legacy at Grand Prairie Funeral Home in Grand Prairie, TX, on September 16th, 2025, where family and close friends will gather to reflect on the profound impact he made on their lives. The committal service will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all he touched, and his memory will be a guiding light to those he leaves behind.
