

Preceded in death by father, Donald Mahoney on August 11, 1995; and mother, Beatrice Mahoney on March 27, 1997 and a niece that died as an infant - Lorilyn Wuster died on October 29, 1975.

Graduated Monsignor Farrell High School in New York in 1966 – motto was “vir fidelis” which means “faithful man”
Earned B.A. from Richmond College of The City University of New York
English Major with a Minor in Political Science in January 1971
Entered the US Army April 19, 1971 and was discharged April 18, 1973
Bob and Mike Pisauro were trained as MPs in Fort Gordon , Georgia , served together in Viet Nam
Bob served as a Military Policeman and was in Viet Nam from September 19, 1971 to June 1, 1972
Earned a Masters in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia
with a Minor in Public Administration in December 1974
In 1980, he was the Founder of the Trailwood Neighborhood Association which was organized initially to oppose open class rooms in the neighborhood elementary and middle school – successful with that endeavor, and then went on to successfully oppose a land fill proposed near the neighborhood
Spent 7 years with a Bible Study fellowship studying the gospels and both the old and new testament
In 1991, Bob became a faithful Associate with the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth
Survived by his daughter, Michele Denise Mahoney; grandson, Patrick Thorne Mahoney; sister, Cathy Dobbs, and her husband Charles; sister, Cindi Panarella and her husband, Dan; and brother Rich Mahoney and his wife, Abby. And several nieces and nephews, who are, Christy Dobbs, Melissa and husband, Richard Carroll, Alison Panarella and fiancé,Noah Rice, Danielle Mahoney, Michael Mahoney, and Matthew Mahoney.
