Bob was a one of a kind man from the Greatest Generation. He set the bar high for himself and the rest of us who he loved and inspired. May those of us who were blessed to know him, his wife, Joyce, and his daughter, Selia always remember his sense of duty to his country, his family, and most of all to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am a better person for having had his friendship and him being a second dad to me during my lifetime.

Dear Selia,
May God Bless you and all your family through these painful transition times. We who have said goodbye to our Grand Pa and Dad, hold you dearly and tenderly in a long embrace. We knew your Grand Pa by the beautiful words with which you described him and the love that shined in your eyes whenever you talked about him. May God bring peace to your heart, as He did to ours, while we patiently wait to meet them again in due time.

COL Waggener was a true gentleman and professional officer. He was a wonderful role model for the officers and enlisted soldiers who received training at Fort Benjamin Harrison, IN. There's an old saying that "I would rather SEE a sermon than HEAR one." COL Waggener's leadership and service were great "snapshots" of the Army values that underlie what it means to be a soldier. May he rest in peace and may our Heavenly Father grant comfort and solice to all who knew and loved COL Waggener.

There is no greater honor than to have served under Col. Waggener's leadership and command. He helped us to become more than we ever dreamed we could be. He was a great leader and an even greater man. Most of all, he was the greatest friend a person could have. He will be sorely missed. May Col. Waggener rest in the arms of our Lord forever.
