Ruben L. Rosales, age 76, of Grand Prairie, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021. He was born February 11, 1945, the son of Teodoro and Elvira Lopez Rosales. Ruben was raised in Harlingen, Texas with 8 siblings. He was the youngest with 1 brother and 7 sisters. Ruben and his siblings had the typical rivalries while growing up, but they cared deeply for one another.
Ruben was a faithful and loving husband. He married Mary C Garcia on January 8, 1966 in Harlingen, Texas. His kindness and consideration radiated an aura of warmth to those around him. Compassionate and devoted, Ruben worked hard to make a good life for his family. Ruben and Mary were blessed with 7 children, 4 sons Ruben Jr, Daniel, David, Christo and 3 daughters Nelda, Marie and Christina. Then they were blessed with 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Growing up Ruben worked in the fields with his parents and siblings and as he got older went into welding industry. He finally decided to retire in 2007 at his place of residence of Grand Prairie, Texas, having worked in the welding and lumber industry. After retiring he enjoyed spending more time with his family, watching Westerns, Elvis movies and his music, singing along and playing his guitar in his spare time. He also liked hitting the road with his daughter Marie to get his daily coffee and sweets at their local fast-food restaurants. He was a lover of animals especially his cherished German Shepherds.
Religion and faith were important to him. He was a raised Catholic but was recently attending Gateway Church of Grand Prairie with his children. He was well respected because he was such an outgoing individual who sought to help in any manner he could.
Not only did Ruben enjoy traveling, but he also seemed to enjoy planning all of those trips and vacations. He was a facilitator who could easily make up a near perfect schedule of all of the things to do and see. He never minded revisiting his favorite places, included Graceland, Disney World and Galveston, TX.
Visitation for Ruben will be held Monday, September 27, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. A Graveside Service will follow at Parkdale Cemetery, 701 Mary Street, Arlington, TX 76010. Serving as Pallbearers are David Rosales, Ruben Rosales, Jr., Christo Rosales, David Rosales, Jr., Adrian Rosales, Danny Rosales, Jr., Daniel Rosales and Rahe Ballentine.
