He was born in Tarpon Springs, Florida on May 3, 1926. On November 9, 1963, he married Elaine Barber and they raised four sons.
Russell had a passion throughout his life for model trains, gardening, and music.
He is survived by his sons Richard Barber, Charles Barber, and Tim Barber, his grandchildren Kristy Leddy, Jeff Barber, Marla Unzeitig, and Sarah Chaney, Chance Barber, Blake Barber, Rebecca Barber, Natalie Barber, and Veronica Shorrock.
A visitation for Russell will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A funeral service will take place Friday, April 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 5851 New York Ave, Arlington, TX 76018. The committal service will be on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Moore Memorial Gardens, 1219 North Davis Drive, Arlington, TX 76012.
