He joined the U.S. Army, retiring as a Major after serving 22 years active duty and reserves. He was a registered nurse working in various PACUs and Parkland's burn unit. He was glad to share his knowledge & help his daughter study during nursing school.
He was active in the Boy Scouts of America Circle 10 Council, Troops 507 & 388, and helped run Winter Camp at Camp Cherokee for several years. He was proud both his sons became Eagle Scouts.
As a self-taught musician, playing guitar, bass, bouzouki, mandolin, and bodhran (an Irish drum), he served in the music ministry at church since high school. He also used his talents & beautiful tenor voice as a member of the local Irish-American band, Behan, who played annually at the North Texas Irish Festival.
He was most proud of his family. He married Karen Greeley in June 1973. Together they have four children; Bryan (wife Joni- Emma & Claire), Daniel (wife Brooke- Finn & Kael), Vanessa (husband Nathan- Milada & Orin), Deirdre (husband Todd- Cullen). He is also survived by brother Jeff (Candy), sister-in-law Brenda, many nieces, nephews, and extended family including 'adopted' family the Behans and Jim Bacsik & other local musicians. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ricky & Kenny, and in-laws George & Tommy Greeley.
