Ruth Ann Terry (Mazur), a lifelong Texan with a heart centered on family and community, has passed away. Born in Grand Prairie, Ruth Ann spent the majority of her life in Irving before residing in Mabank in her later years.
A true "boy mom" in every sense of the word, Ruth Ann’s life was defined by her resilience and work ethic. She often balanced multiple jobs to provide for her family, proving there was no obstacle she wouldn’t overcome for her children. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Mark Terry, and is survived by her son, William Terry.
During her years in Irving, Ruth Ann was a fixture of the local sports scene. She was deeply involved with the Irving Boys Baseball Association (IBBA) and spent countless seasons at the River Bottoms. Her passion for the game went beyond the stands; who served her community as both a coach and even an umpire.
Ruth Ann wasn't just a spectator; she was a presence. Known for her spirited commentary and her "front-row" seat to life, she never hesitated to share her perspective or offer a knowledgeable word of advice to those around her. Her family fondly remembers her as someone who was passionately invested in the lives of those she loved—she didn't just watch from the sidelines; she immersed herself in the action.
In her later years, her greatest joy was her grandsons: Jaxon, Reese, and Archer Terry. She lived to attend their games and events, remaining their most vocal and devoted fan until the very end. She leaves behind her four siblings—Billy, Margaret, Frankie, and Mary (Mazur)—and a legacy of showing up, speaking her mind, and loving her family with everything she had.
