

He enlisted in the Army in 1972 and fought in the Vietnam War. Samuel served proudly for four years. He went on to work at a paper mill for 33 years.
Samuel loved spending time with his wife, Brenda and seven children. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Samuel was also a huge trivia buff. He was also active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Martin Stovall; sisters, Ann Parker and Martha Haile; and grandson, Andrew Jennings.
Samuel is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda; children, Samantha Ovalle and husband, Richard; Diana Brown and husband, James; Jeremy Stovall and wife, D’Ann; Michelle Palmer and husband, Jared; Trevor Stovall and wife, Amy; Matthew Stovall and Anthony Stovall; 13 grandchildren, Alexander Jennings and wife, Sami; Ashley Herrin and husband, Josh; Alyssa Jennings, Taylor Brown, Cassidy Brown, Gage Stovall, Brooke Palmer, Bryan Palmer, Emma Palmer, Jasmine Stovall, Autumn Stovall, Zelda Stovall and Luna Stovall; one great grandchild due October 7; brothers, David Stovall, Jimmy Stovall and wife, Helen; and John Stovall; sisters, Betty Bolten and husband, Jim; Joyce Rising; Mary Loving and husband, Gary.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 12:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2010 S. Carrier Parkway, Grand Prairie, Texas. Burial will take place at 2:15 pm at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
