Sandy was a general duty Nurse for the US Army. She served in Vietnam and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal - Vietnam Campaign Medal. Sandy battled cancer the last ten months of her life. She loved quilting and her stitch group Unraveled. The Unraveled group made her a quilt for her chemo treatments. She also belonged to the Fort Worth Quilt Guild and was a Red Hat member. She loved her Red Hat buddies that she worked with for years at Arlington Memorial Hospital. Sandy worked 37 years as a registered nurse in the operating room. She enjoyed the annual trips to the Mexican Riviera. Sandy was very proud of her three sons, and she will be missed dearly. She and Ray Batchelor had been married 45 years and belonged to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Grand Prairie.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Batchelor; sons Tony Batchelor, Douglas Batchelor, Jonathan Batchelor; daughter-in-law Jael Batchelor; grandsons Lucas Batchelor, Joshua Batchelor, Nathan Batchelor; sister Shirley Flaten; brother-in-law Gary Flaten; niece Barbra Fowler and nephew Bret Flaten.
