Sarah Ann Nelson

She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were in high school. Then she took jobs at Leddy Brothers and Cavender’s Western stores before going to work for Grand Prairie ISD. She worked as a baker for the Grand Prairie school district for seventeen years. She loved cooking and baking.

Sarah enjoyed spending time with her family most of all, especially with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Addie Foster, and her mother-in law and father-in-law, Fletcher and Dorothy Nelson.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jimmy Nelson, son, Allen Lee Nelson and his wife, Carol, daughter, Kelly Ann Minnix and her husband, Randy, her 4 grandchildren, Sarah, Kalyn, Ryan, and Allena, her 5 great-grandchildren, Lynnlee, Levi, Lilah, Allison, and Kaiya, as well as her siblings: brothers James Foster, Wayne Foster, and Don Foster (wife Dorene), and sisters Frances Newsom and Geneva McCoy (husband Milton).

A visitation for Sarah will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Home. A graveside will follow at 1:30 PM at Shady Grove Cemetery, 3000 Hardrock Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
