I’ve really struggled to find words to express how much I loved and will miss Sheri Geurts.  Sheri and I worked together for 20+ years.  She, TJ and I shared many ups and downs together and supported each other and helped raise our kids.  Sheri wasn’t just the help desk person in CR, she made it personal, always giving people her heartfelt advice or just a hard time!  Mostly a hard time!  But she was able to make people laugh and relieve some of their stress which was her goal. 

She could fix anything!  She would take equipment home to work on it because she didn’t want to purchase something new. Yes, she had a tight hold on the pocketbook.  I remember back when she took care of office supplies.  You had to bring her the cardboard back of your empty paper tablet before she would give you a new one. 

Only her love for her friends and family was stronger than her work ethic.  We need many more Sheri’s in this world.  Sending my love and prayers for her family and friends. 

Oh, how I loved this girl.  I have been in bad place emotionally, and getting this news is almost more than I can handle. Sheri had a bark that was much worse than her bite. Strong, caring, loving, hard worker, devoted to her job, son and friends. Soooo much fun to be around. Little story:  when my niece was in the hospital, many years ago, my late mother-in-law gave her a doll. My niece’s name is Sheri, and my MIL named it the Sheri Dudley doll. When I met Sheri, I immediately called her Dudley. I know my co-workers didn’t understand because it just between Sheri and me. She loved hugging my husband, Dale, and he loved being hugged by her. He didn’t know that some called her Sarge, ironically he called her that too.  No doubt everyone in Heaven has already heard of Sheri Geurts, aka Dudley or Sarge) by now. You were, and are loved by all. 

Sheri, you have been a part of my life and career at American Airlines for over 20 years.  It's still so hard to process that you are no longer with us.  You were always there when anyone needed anything.  You were the first to volunteer when someone needed something.  You are missed so much by so many already.  Michael my condolences to you.  Your mother was loved by so many here at AA. I pray for your comfort during the difficult time.

Sheri was my friend, next -door neighbor,  cat sitter, playmate for my granddaughter,  and board member for our HOA. Sheri's love, laughter,  tears, and advice were cherished by me. She took such care of everyone, especially Michael. We shared joys and sorrows.  Sheri had keys to my house, thank goodness! I still daily see her car in the driveway, and am hit with her loss. I pray for Michael.  I'll always love her. I know Sheri is in heaven, and is now our guardian angel. 

Sheri was like a grandmother to me, I've known her since I was a toddler.  She spent almost every single Thanksgiving with us over the years. There aren't kind enough words to describe the kind of person Sheri was. She was pure and good, through and through. She was always there when it counted, from helping me plan my wedding reception to flying up to Pennsylvania and staying with me to help cook my very first Thanksgiving I ever hosted. I can't think of her without picturing her grin and that infectious laugh she had. Sheri was so loved by myself and my family and I will miss her more than I can say. 

Sheri was 1 of the 1st people I met when I arrived at NAS Pax River, MD. 
She and Bear (Karen Seale) were my big sisters and TRIED to keep me out of trouble. 
I was fortunate enough to reconnect with Michael G. And her when she was stationed in Newport RI and my daughters and I were in MA.
She was a warrior, wonderful woman and dear friend. Fair Winds and Following Seas, Sheri.

Sheri has been part of our family for almost 30 years now.  Within a short time of meeting her in military housing my girls considered her their grandmom and she played the part ohhh so well. School plays, concerts, graduations, their weddings, and the birth of their children.  She's been here for it all! Life will never be the same without her. Her laughter could fill a room with smiles.  Reading some of your posts I feel like I know so many of you through her stories over the years.  Her "East Coast Family" as she called us have been blessed to have her in our lives for all these years.  Words can't express how much we will miss her! Rest in Peace Sheri we love you!❤

So sad to learn of her passing.  I too called her Sarge and she laughed.  I loved going to computer room and sharing laughs with Sherry and TJ💚  She helped me so much as I was computer challenged.   I will fondly remember her laugh and calling me Kiddo.  Rest In Peace my friend 💚

I’ve been struggling for days now, trying to put my feelings to words.  Like so many, Sheri and I had an immediate connection being both former military. Sheri didn’t mince words. You always knew where you stand with her. She was funny, charismatic, loved her family and friends. Working in the office the first couple of years, I generally was able to visit the Computer Room.  Patti, TJ and Sheri always made you feel like family.  I always thought of Patti and TJ as sisters, but Sheri, for some reason was like a work wife.  I don’t remember how it got started, but I started calling her Mrs. Elzey and it stuck.  More than likely it was because we argued so much…but always in fun. When I made the decision to leave American Airlines and Texas, Sheri was right there for me. On moving day, I was so stressed out trying to get the truck loaded, Sheri was right there. Once loaded, we were sitting there with a huge U-Haul truck, towing a dolly that has one of our cars on it. My Jeep is also towing a trailer. And we have two large Labs to get in the Jeep before we can get on the road. We soon realized, we needed to do a final clean up and vacuum of the apartment to make sure we get our security deposit back. Again, Sheri was right there. She insisted we hit the road so we could make our first destination before dark. The apartment manager personally called to thank us for leaving the apartment so clean. I don’t know what I would’ve done without her. And as I sit here typing this, I still don’t know what I’m going to do without her. I love you “Mrs Elzey”, now and always.

Sheri was our guardian angel at the Mountain Creek townhouses. Always with a smile and taking care of others. She had the biggest heart for animals. We kept in touch through emails and Facebook. I know she is in the best company now! I will miss her!

Honestly my memories are a lot like others. She scared the begiggies out of me when I first met her.  But as time went on the more I knew her the more I loved her. I am the same age as her but I was one of the ones she called Kiddo too. She always told me how much she loved when I shared post on Facebook of kids and grands.  She made me feel so special when all along she was the special lady. Love you Sheri. So thankful to have been a part of your work family.   

Sheri was such an amazing lady, so many moments had ~ we laughed, cheered, complained, and shed tears.  She reached out to me on Friday about the news of my retirement. She was sad, and concerned for my future. We shared fond memories, both cried. Words of appreciation, care, friendship were said. I will cherish that moment we had. Rest in peace my friend.

I will never forget that first call to IT when I started at AA and got Sheri on the phone. It was all I could do to not panic with her response!! LOL. Who was this tall fiery red head woman??!! As time passed, and stories were told I realized what a huge heart she had. She never hesitated to help anyone of us when we needed it.  Although we didn’t talk much after I left, I was able to keep in touch with her through Facebook and she was still so kind. Rest easy Sheri, I’ll  see you on the other side.  To her family, I am so sorry for your loss and may you be comforted with the wonderful memories of her.  

Ms. Sheri or Chief or Nurse Sheri was my name for her depending on what day it was or what I needed. She grew up in the Philippines and that was what started our friendship. I am originally from the Philippines and she and I would always reminisce about home. Even her mother also used to ask about me so that she could remember the Philippines. She would watch our Pomeranian and one day our dog came back all trained. Ms. Sheri couldn't help it but she trained Sparky and Ms. Sheri came home all scratched up and all she said was because she trained Sparky.  Been talking to her more often than usual the past few weeks and finally I told her let me send my daughter to you to also train just like Sparky and she just laughed so hard, that Ms. Sheri kind of laugh. I can still clearly hear her. She always reminded me to take my rice water for tummy issues or ginger and she actually made me change my cardiologist to hers.  This is why she is always going to be a Ms. Sheri, Chief or Nurse Sheri to me.  I will miss our chats at the office and even our chats after hours. Rest in peace Ms. Sheri. Continue to guide and watch over us. 

Sheri was my sister,  our birthdays were 6 months and 2 days apart mine Jan 28th and hers listed. I say sister, because we had our days, but love conquered  all. I have a thousand memories, but my favorite is when she changed my name.  When she came to the Computer Room, I had Red hair, I instantly became Lucy.  When her badge opened the door, I would here "Lucy I'm Home'".   She would come to my house,  stand in the yard and wave to the neighbors( I lived in an all Black neighborhood), can you imagine. I last talked to her the day of Elise's, meeting, she wanted to see me, I so regret I  didn't make it. I love you Geurts and will think of you each day. Praying for Everyone, this is hard!

Sheri was my friend. I called her “Sarge”….and when I would, she would belt out her familiar laugh. I loved her. Rest In Peace, my friend. Praying for the family during these difficult days of loss.
