Sherm graduated from North Dallas High School, attended Arlington St. College and earned a Doctorate of Optometry from University of Houston. Sherman was a Doctor of Optometry for 40 years serving the Dallas, Texas area. He was involved in the Explorer Scout, a member of R.O.T.C. and a member of Inglewood Baptist Church.
Dr. Reed loved to read, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and looked forward to their trips to the beach. Sherm loved God and loved to read his word. He was a dedicated, loving husband to his wife Shirley, he loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved spending time with his children and watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren growing up. When the babies would come visit he was very interested in how much they had changed and grown. He loved to get together and have family gatherings of good times, good food and making great memories. He loved sitting in the backyard with Shirley watching the wildlife that came into their yard. Especially their “pets” the raccoons. Sherman was a very kind, generous soul. It was a pleasure meeting a man that didn’t have an enemy in this world. His overwhelming personality could brighten the darkest of rooms. We are blessed as a family and friends to have known him. His memory will carry us through our darkest times and light our days. The memories of his smiles and laughter will inspire our laughter. We were blessed.
