Sister was always a grateful, smiling, appreciative person. The Sisters with whom she lived remember her loving ways. She always prayed for and blessed everyone, especially praying for priests, the world, and the souls in purgatory. At daily Mass and during community prayer she always mentioned these intentions as well as the Gifts and Fruits of the Holy Spirit for those who did not have them.

Sister had a great devotion to Mary, the Mother of God. She called on Mary as her own mother and sought her guidance throughout her life. As her time drew near, someone asked her:”Are you ready to go to Jesus? and her reply, “Yes”. She was preparing herself for a long time.

She liked to be funny and make people laugh. She enjoyed sharing her wonderful Midwest humor. Her love for the sick always found her praying with and for them and especially assisting those who were in their final stages of life.

During her last week on earth it was evident that she was in pain. She was unable to speak but one could make out the mouthing of the word “Jesus”. On one occasion when a Sister visited her, she listened to what the Sister was saying and not only mouthed but loud and clear said: “God Bless You!”

Jesus was always on her lips. Her life was a constant prayer…when well she was always in chapel for common prayer and whenever any special Liturgy was being prayed by a Retreat Group, she would make the effort to participate. When still able she loved to read spiritual books, especially “The Imitation of Christ” and books written by Father Binu. She personified prayer.

Dear Sister Christiana all your good wishes and prayers will always remain in our hearts. Now it is time for you to bask in the arms of your Beloved Jesus and listen to His voice as He blesses you in your new home in heaven.
