Stephen Jagdish Persaud was born on June 14th 1951 in sunny Trinidad and Tobago. He was the second son of Ragday Jankie and Lutchmie Persaud. He completed his early education in Trinidad and at the age of 18 moved to Toronto, Ontario to purse his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduating, he married the love of his life and soul mate Shaffina on a cold January day in Montreal Canada. They had 3 daughters Lisa, Nathalie and Elizabeth. Shaffina and Stephen were married for 37 blissful years. He is survived by mother Ragday, brothers KP, Shuday, Shaday, sister Tara and many loving nieces and nephews. Stephen will also be missed by all of his “adopted” sons, daughters, nieces and nephews. His wife Shaffina Persaud, daughters Lisa Austin, Nathalie Persaud, Elizabeth Persaud, son Cordell Austin and his granddaughters Alena and Giana Austin will always remember the love and memories he left behind.
He was the type of man who truly never met a stranger and could carry a conversation with you about anything. His generosity to many family and friends was evident through his desire to make sure that you always felt at home. His uncanny ability to tell the best jokes about even the simplest things in life, brought joy and laughter to all. His life was filled with so much love and happiness and even though he is no longer here on Earth with us, his wisdom and memory will forever be imprinted on our hearts and our lives.
