

Thelma grew up in San Antonio and attended Bracken Ridge High School. She had 3 children and worked for Interurban Support in San Antonio for 20 years. In 1990 she moved her family to Dallas, Texas where she worked for Chromalloy for 6 years as an aircraft inspector.
Thelma enjoyed shopping, sewing, traveling and making ceramic pottery. She was an amateur antique collector and loved to play bingo and slot machines with her friends. Thelma was an outgoing woman who made friends everywhere she went. Extremely loyal to her family and friends she was caring and self-less. One of her personality traits that most of her friends like was her truthfulness. She believed that you should tell it like it is. Her family was her most prized possession. She loved to care for her grandchildren and spend time as a family.
Thelma is preceded in death by her parents Agustin Mata, Trinidad Casillas; son: Augustin Garcia; sisters: Viola Marquez and Gloria Santoya.
She is survived by her daughters: Erica Morales and her husband, Hector, Valerie Marez and her husband, Ernest Tobar; grandchildren: Elyssa Morales, Joshua Morales, Angie Katterine Mejia, Isabella Morales, Judas Garcia, Ernest Tobar, Julian Garcia, Angelina Tobar; brothers: Agustin Mata, Edward Mata; lifelong partner: Arturo Marez and beloved family from San Antonio and California.
