When my husband Randy started coaching and teaching at Adams, Jo immediately took him under her wing. She became a mentor and friend, and she made school fun for everyone! I will remember her always having a smile on her face. Praying for her family.

Jo was one of the “Adam’s Mommas” to me when I was a newbie almost 30 years ago. Teaching lessons and life lessons were her specialty. She taught us that hard work could also be a ton of fun! She will be missed. Love you!

A lot of people I know were not as close to their grandparents as I was. “Jojo” as my brother and I called her meant the world to me. She was the funniest, most kind, and amazing person I was lucky enough to know. She was an immense ball of light wherever she went. Always optimistic but also a realist. She was a truly great human being. Someone I could tell anything to. You will be in my heart forever.

Verna Jo was my third grade teacher at Travis Elementary. To this day, she stands out in my mind as my favorite teacher. She was smart and and funny and loved her students so much. I was blessed to have her as my teacher. May you find comfort in her memory. God bless you all.
