Jo moved around a lot as a child due to her father's job. When in high school they finally settled in Conway, Arkansas. She met James "Rudy" Adams in school and they married after graduation celebrating 67 years of marriage.
Jo received her bachelor's degree in education from University of Central Arkansas. She worked for over 35 years for the GPISD, most recently at Adams Middle School. A devoted wife and loving mother she was a faithful member of the Methodist Church and read her Bible every night before bed.
