Walter Alton Grice, 96, of Grand Prairie, TX passed away on March 12, 2020.

A burial service will be held March 17, 2020 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 9:15 followed by a funeral service at First Baptist Church Grand Prairie at 11:00.

Walter was born June 7th, 1923 in Quitman, TX to Walter William and Ruby Ruth Grice.

At age 19 He joined the Army and was a Private First Class. He fought in World War ll where he received two purple hearts along with other medals.

He married Mary Louise Wardlaw of Mineola, Tx on January 22nd, 1949. They celebrated 71 years of marriage this year.

He was a CEO of Federal Land Bank Association in Sulphur Springs, TX until he retired.

Walter was a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie, He was a Mason and a Shriner.

He is proceeded in death by both of his parents and his 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Grice; His daughter, Beth Reed and her husband Michael; His grandsons, Daniel Reed and wife Misty, Derek Reed and wife Kristi; Great grandchildren, Cameron, Addyson, Braxton, Easton, and Asher; and many nieces and nephews.

With a hurting heart prayers for Aunt Mary, Beth Reed and Family. Uncle Alton’s journey on this earth has ended, but he has been reunited with many that welcomed him in the Kingdom of Heaven. He left family and friends with many wonderful memories, so cherish them, till we meet again. Love you all.
