Strong, dependable, outdoorsy, creative and funny. These are just a few words that describe Warren Stanley House. “Stan,” as he was known to his friends, passed away Wednesday evening, September 11, 2019 at the age of 85.
Stan was born January 9, 1934 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Son of Abner Alexander and Mary Marge House. Brother to Dale House. He attended Texas Tech where he met his wife, Carole Ann Click House. They were married 47 years at the time of her too-soon passing in 2005. He missed her every day since.
A rugged outdoorsman, Stan grew up working on ranches and later served in the Army. He loved to hunt and fish. He was artistic and carved beautiful figurines. He worked diligently for the City of Grand Prairie for over 25 years. He served many positions including city engineer and Comptroller. He was known for his honesty and fairness.
He’s survived by his son, Matthew Stanley, and his daughter, Laura Kay. They were right there with him at the end. As he had been for them.
