

William “Bill” Walker of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 after a long battle
with diabetes and heart disease. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa on November 26, 1963.
Bill is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Elizabeth Walker, his son William Donald Walker II,
and his daughter, Abigail Janae Walker. Bill is also survived by his father, Donald Walker and wife Frances and his sister, Diane Walker along with her fiancé Shane Sutton as well as many close relatives and cherished friends. In addition, his survivors include his birth-sisters, Glennis Guerrerro-Lund of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Connie De La Garza of San Antonio, Texas. Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Yoko Walker, and his birth-mother Marcia Teboe of Sioux City, Iowa.
Bill was a loving husband and devoted father. He was a faithful Christian with a kind soul, joyful spirit and compassionate heart. He leaves a legacy of love and immeasurable contributions to his family, friends, church and community.
Music was a life-long passion. Bill began playing the string bass in fifth grade. His achievements included many awards and honors for performance excellence. He was selected to the All-State orchestra two years in a row. Bill played with symphony orchestras in Amarillo and Irving, Texas.
His love for movies and buttered popcorn was a family tradition. It was passed down to him and his sister from their father and continues to his wife and kids.
Bill was an unwavering fan of the Dallas sports trifecta—Cowboys, Mavs and Rangers. He especially loved and enjoyed family gatherings at Pilot Point, Texas and at the Brazos River near Mineral Wells, Texas.
Bill was a graduate of Arlington Lamar High School and Oklahoma Christian University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
Bill was an active member of the CrossPoint (formerly Turnpike) Church of Christ.
