I send my condolences to all who loved you Mrs. Zelma Moore. 
  I never had the opportunity to meet Mrs.Zelma, however I know she was a special person. She let my grandma stay in her house in Chaparral New Mexico . I never got to meet my grandma and only found out where she was living after she was hospitalized. Traci Merritt is my grandma. The neighbors told me how she came to stay on the property and how kind Zelma was to my grandma. I am thankful Zelma was there for my grandma. 
  I am still trying to find my grandma. Nevertheless I am glad to know she has had some good people in her life. 
  To all who knew and loved Zelma I hope it is a comfort to know she touched the lives of people she never met.

It's been 2 1/2 years and I still miss you more than ever.  Reading all of these memories brings tears to my eyes yet laughter from all of the mischief you got into.  No wonder I was such a mischievous child growing up.  I know exactly where it came from.  I do know you have been watching over me.  There are times I would wake up and my room would smell like your house.  I knew it was you because the instant t u walked out of my room it would very gone...   until the next time you came to see me.  Thank you for looking in on me.  I love you so much!!!

It's been a year since you passed. I thought it would get easier, but honestly I miss you more today then ever. 

There are so many memories I can' t write them all down. But there is one that always stuck in my mind. I was 12 and was at home watching the younger ones at Ritas house. About 1:00 the door bell rang. When I answered the door it was the cops with mom and Rita in tow. They told me they came upon them  at the top of Hercules st.  tryiny to find out who could pee the straightest line down the road. The cops thought it was so funny they couldn't arrest them so they made them park the car and brought them home

 One of the things I appreciated most about Mom was the way she 'adopted' Sandy. I was lucky that my Mother and my wife got along so well. Sandy learned early on in our marriage that the easiest way to get her way was to go to Mom. It was so obvious that I used to tell them that we couldn't get divorced because Sandy would get custody of Mom.

I have so many memories of Nanny growing up, including how "Nanny" came to be.  I was the first grandchild, and my dad was trying to teach me how to say granny.  I was never able to say it but said Nanny instead and it stuck.  I remember the many times we used to go play bingo.  I remember walking to school every morning and would always walk to her house and have breakfast there because she would be just getting off work.  I would always hide at Nanny's house when i got into trouble.  I remember she would let me borrow her cadillac after i got my drivers license and my friends, Jason and Stephanie, and i would drive all over town.  I remember all the rolled tacos and french fries we used to eat at her house.  She always made sure she was stocked up.  She always helped me with my book reports by telling me a detailed synopsis and i would write my book reports from that.  I remember all of the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners we used to have with her.  Christmas Eve was always very fun as we always opened gifts at Nannys that night with the rest of the family.  You never judged me when i told you i was gay.  You said you didnt care and that you loved me anyways.  Nanny, you were one of a kind.  A great woman or laughter and inspiration.  I will always love you Nanny and you will never ever be forgotten.  And even though you never met him, Jason sends his love and wishes he could have met you too.  Thank you for being an important part of my life and come visit me sometime and let me know you are watching over me.  I love you Nanny and you will be missed greatly!!!!!

There is so much I want to say but it would take hours. Little did I know when I married Mike, I would gain a mother. She taught me kindness, compassion and strength. She was always there for me and never judged. She was also very funny. We had a dog for 13 years. His name was Rocky. For 13 years she called him Lucky. Just one of so many wonderful memories. She WAS my mother. The only one I ever had. There is a whole in my heart that will never be filled. Rest in peace. I love you

Aunt Zelma will be so missed by her Georgia family. It was always a big thing when the family would here “Aunt Zelma’s coming”! We always had a big family gathering at granny’s or uncle Lamar’s and we ALL had  to come visit her. Aunt Zelma always kept us in stitches with her jokes or reactions to things said. I’ll never forget her sending my mom (aunt Carolyn) dirty jokes in the mail. Never knew what you might get when you received a package from her!
Aunt Zelma was loved by so many! Our hearts and prayers are with all of her children and extended family. We love you! Fly high sweet angel. 

My Nanny. She left us early this morning. She had been sick for quite a while and finally is free from her suffering. She touched and affected so many lives in her years here with us. She was my first partner in crime. Lol we got into so much trouble sometimes. A shining example of what a woman could do and be. As she rests now, I look back and can't help but feel joy and pride in the woman that touched so many of us. Nanny, we all love you, we will all miss you, but you will never leave any of us. In our hearts and our souls we are better for having known you and though the color may have turned down a bit in the world today, it resonates in shades that didn't exist before you. I love you so much.

I will always remember the summer nights we’d get to spend at Nanny’s house, eating as much candy as possible, staying up all night long, then waking up in the morning and being able to drink coffee and eat her fried sweet bread. Oh man.. there are so many memories I could go on and on about.. but honestly my favorite were our Sunday dinners. Cooking it up with my grandpa and then calling my Nanny and inviting her to come up to the house to eat, and every time, she’d ask what we’re having and I’d tell her and she’d say “oh boy, that sounds good” and she’d always bring me cooking magazines to look at because I’ve always wanted to be a chef. I remember her always always always having her little pocket on her dress full of bubble gum and her taking some of my sugar by tickling and kissing me for the gum.. Nanny, you’ll be missed so much by so many.. I love you bunches ❤️

The world lost a lot of sunshine here. To me, the most memorable thing about my Mom, is how she could fall in a pile of manure and come out smelling like roses. Yellow Roses. An example; Mom and her friend Rita drove all the way to Albuquerque to see her favorite singer; Ernest Tubb. Finding out she didn't have enough money for the cover charge, she got caught trying to sneak into the theater through a bathroom window. If you know my Mom, you know the commotion that she caused when they tried to arrest her. Ernest Tubb heard about this crazy lady trying to sneak in.  He insisted she be brought in, given a great seat, posed for pictures and autographs after the show. Even made the local paper.  
       
        Raising six turbulent kids in some very turbulent times, pretty much by herself, takes a tough, resilient woman. But she never quit, she never gave up. And through it all she never lost her love of laughter. Or corny jokes. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and put the sparkle in her eyes. And they repaid her with such love and adoration. My Mom is the only one who dared go against my ideas about raising my son. She was the only one who could get away with that. As I grow into a grandparent role, I hope to apply the lessons about how to be the best grandparent from my Mother.

      Laughing in the face of troubles,  getting back up again after life knocks you down again and then kicks you in the gut while you're down there, to keep going even if all seems lost, these are all things I learned from my Mother.  The world turns a little colder today, a bit more lonely. There will forever be a little less sunshine now, a little less warmth, a lot less laughter, and a lot less love.  Goodbye, Mom. May you rest in peace.

I can't express how much you will be missed. I enjoyed all the years we shared. You made the best Christmas cakes and I always looked forward to opening the wonderful Christmas boxes you sent us.  You always managed to find the most unusual, but memorable gifts that made me laugh, smile and sometimes cry. I will miss cutting your hair and doing your nails. You are truly an amazing human being and I wish there were more people like you in this world. It was an honor to become part of the Moore Family.

My mom was one of those people you only meet once in a lifetime. She had the greatest sense of humor, and was so kind and giving. When she walked into a room, her eyes would light up as she looked around for something to make everyone laugh.  I have so many memories of mom, but my favorite memories will always be of the long road trips we took from El Paso to Georgia.  With each passing year, those trips became the highlight of the year!! Many vacations we spent together driving and that in it self was a blessing few people get to experience in their lifetime. I love you mom and I am going to miss you so much. 

My Nanny was an amazing grandma. I remember spending so many nights at her house with my cousin Eric.  She would always give us one of her tee shirts to wear to bed. She would read so many books to us as we fall asleep next to her.  She loved to read.  I remember she would always take us to the video store to get movies to watch (mostly ones our parents didn’t like). I remember one day we watched a scary movie and she scared us! It’s funny now but at that time we screamed so loud she thought someone was going to call the cops! I would wake up and she would make me coffee ( I was to young for coffe my parents said) and either pop tarts or cinnamon toast. For lunch we always had rolled tacos. Everybody loved her rolled tacos. I remember after karate class we would go there and watch ninja turtles or thunder cats.  I remember going to the store with her and we would ride in the back of the station wagon and wave at the people in back of us.  There is so many memories I could go on about how selfless, amazing, loving and caring she is. She will truly be missed. Love ya Nanny!
