Original Obituary:
It is with deep sorrow that the family announces that Amber E. Belknap Marks passed away on January 4, 2022, at Spectrum Hospital, after a valiant fight against Covid since admission on December 11, 2021.
Amber had brought much joy to those she has now left to mourn: Her husband, Philip Marks; her son, Matthew (Becky) Belknap and three ‘grandbabies’ (as she called them) Cameron, Ryan, Skyler; her Belknap siblings, brother Jerry, sisters Helen Marie Koetje, Renee (Bill) Bainbridge; her mother and step-father Carole (Greg) Meriwether. Also, her very special and dearest friend, Cheryl Bell. With only one person allowed in Amber’s room, Cheryl was asked and accepted the role of proxy advocate, conferred with hospital staff, attended to Amber’s non-medical needs and grooming, sang to her and prayed over her, and responded to the family’s frantic requests for updates. Also surviving is her extended family of Aunts, Cousins, Nieces & Nephews, her extensive “Facebook family” and many friends. Amber is also survived by the siblings of her husband: David Marks (Dallas TX) Judy Marks Sink (Phoenix AZ) Albert & Delores Marks (Waynesville NC) Robert Marks (Wyoming MI) Kathie & Roy Letellier (Pine Top AZ) Thomas & Cathy Marks (Big Rapids MI) Timothy Marks (Idaho Springs CO).
Amber had many interests and career choices but first and foremost was her devotion to her family (which also included critters of any kind) and her faith in Our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was truly a Child of God, so although we are now grieving from our loss, we rejoice and gain solace in knowing that Amber was reborn in Christ and had accepted Him as her Savior. We have heard His Word and promise of Heaven, and firmly believe that she is now arrayed in Heavenly garment.
Due to Covid, all services will be private. Amber’s family is planning an outdoor Celebration of Her Life this July, which will be announced at that time.
