

Anthony Moses Zainea Sr. aged 88 passed away Monday, April 9, 2012. He was preceded in death by his son Anthony Zainea Jr., his parents and all of his brothers and sisters. Anthony will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 64 years Josephine, brother-in-law John Lutfy, sister-in-law Theresa Lutfy, daughter-in-law Ellen Zainea, children: Thomas Zainea, Mary Elizabeth Zainea, Shirley “Zainea” Schuelke, David Zainea, Barbara (Daniel) VanderWerf, Jim (Stephanie) Zainea, grandchildren: Benjamin (Heather) Zainea, Deborah (Eric) Rodegher, John Zainea, Thomas Schuelke (Kristy Lambrix), Theresa (Eric) Ledbetter, Nicholas Schuelke (Brianna Aleck), Joshua VanderWerf (Jessica Tingley), Nathan and Timothy VanderWerf, Morgan and Ryan Zainea, great-grandchildren: Hana, Lea, Noah and one on the way, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends. The family would like to give a special thank you for all the loving care his great nephew Dan Zainea and great niece Annette McKnight and her three boys gave to Anthony. A special thank you to those workers at St. Ann's Home who provided Anthony with tender loving care. Anthony was a very devoted husband and father who encountered success at several aspects of life. He immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 12 with his family and started working right away in the grocery business, becoming a citizen while serving in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for over 30 years at Tony Betten Ford and was one of the top sales professionals in the U.S. with his motto “No Baloney when you deal with Tony”. He and his wife also owned the Lazy-T-Motel for 6 years, and he enjoyed being a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Amo-Sy Club. Anthony was a devout Catholic with an uncanny sense of humor, who loved spending time with his family. A favorite passion was sharing his Syrian cooking and grilling out with family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, April 14, 2012 at St Jude Catholic Church 1120 4 Mile Rd NE with Msgr. Edward Hankiewicz as celebrant and Rev. Tom Page as co-celebrant. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with the Rosary being prayed from 6 until 6:30 at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
