Barbara L. Barbara Louise Maile Newton

Barbara Louise Newton of Kent City, went to be with her Lord and Savior and was reunited with her beloved husband of 56 years, Donald on January 11, 2016 with family by her side. She was born in the fall of 1931 in Grand Rapids, MI to Lawrence and Irma Maile who along with her husband preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death are 2 grandsons, Adam DuBois and Peter Bauer as well as daughter-in-law Terri Newton. Barbara will be remembered as a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother by her children Susan Dubois, Bryan (Kim) Newton, Don (Joy) Newton Jr., Pamela Newton, Karla (Mark) Bauer, Kevin (Carol) Newton, Roberta (Mike) Dolphin and Paul (Tracie) Newton as well as her 36 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren with one on the way and 1 great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are her brothers Lawrence (Suzanne) Maile and Robert (Patricia) Maile. She was a dedicated member of Snow Bible Church. Barbara was also a creative baker, sewer and crocheter often donating her wares to various local charities. A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at Kent City Baptist Church on Saturday January 16, 2015 at 2 PM (400 West Muskegon St., Kent City, MI 49330) with Pastor Chris Weeks officiating. Family will be available to greet guests for one hour prior to the service.
