

Betty “Betts” Anne Kramarz, age 80, passed away surrounded by family on July 28, 2023. Betty was born in Grand Rapids on August 17, 1942, one of the seven children of Stanley & Lottie (Kozlowski) Kramarz.
Although she spent her career working in the insurance industry, Betty will be remembered for her devotion to helping others. From her days of volunteering at the Welsh Auditorium to receiving the long time service award at DeVos Place for as she quotes “I work wherever they need me.” As her health started to slow her down, she did not allow this to stop her. Betty was an active member of the The Oaks at Belmont’s activities committee and on the community council.
Betty enjoyed crafting, playing bingo and going to the casino. She loved the theatre and her favorite play was Phantom of the Opera. She was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Most importantly, Betty found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Some of her favorite memories came from the trips to the cottage with all the nieces and nephews.
The legacy that Betty leaves behind is full of memories, smiles and family. As the title of her favorite Elvis songs says “I can’t help falling in love with you”, and anyone who knew Betty loved her.
Betty is survived by her siblings: Maxine Johnson, Frank (Barb) Kramarz, Sr., Chris (Jim) Lilley and Carol (Craig) Rothley; her fiancé Les Reese and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Patricia (Joseph) Fish; her brother Robert (Therese) Kramarz and her brother-in-law Marvin Johnson.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the entire staff at The Oaks at Belmont for their care and support they gave to Betty. They created a warm and loving home for Betty over the last few years.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday August 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Parish. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Betty’s name to The Oaks at Belmont Life Enrichment Fund.
