Bruce Jackson

Mr. Bruce A. Jackson Sr., aged 92, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2021. Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Martha E. Jackson and brothers Noel Jackson and Douglas Jackson. Surviving are his children and spouses, Mark A. Jackson and wife Barbara of Carson City, Nevada, Dr. Bruce A. Jackson II and wife Mary of Grand Rapids, Curtis W. Jackson and wife Kristi of Belmont, and Carla A. Jackson and partner Ronald of Grand Rapids; grandchildren Jakob Jackson and wife Kate, Hilary Tien and husband Jesse, Brock Jackson, Trent Jackson and wife Morgan, Dr. Rhett Jackson and partner Lauren, Anthony Jackson and wife Alana, Patrick Jackson, and Christina Jackson; great-grandchildren Arden and Brooks Tien, Evangelina and Judah Jackson, and Olivia, Warren, and Emmet Jackson. Also, special sister-in-law Blanche Johnson of San Antonio, Texas.

Bruce was born on July 15, 1929, in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Dale and Irene Jackson. He attended Western Michigan University, Michigan State Univeristy, and the University of Michigan. He also served in the United States Air Force as a commissioned Captain. On June 12, 1954, Bruce married the love of his life, Martha E. Jackson at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. Bruce was a member of St. Alphonsus Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, since 1964.

Bruce enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage with his sons, telling stories and spending time with his grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later time.
