Buford E. Cooper (84) of Grand Rapids, MI peacefully passed on Thursday, November 10, 2016 in the comfort of his home and in the company of his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Waunita (Fields), daughter Debra with grandson Dustin, and son Ronald. He is survived by his sister, Gleada Hacker of Florida. Buford will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Carol Moomey and Sharon Cooper. He was the proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren, 15, great grandchildren, and 2 great-great granddaughters. Buford proudly served in the Korean War from 1952-1956 with the US NAVY. He retired from the City of Grand Rapids after 32 years of loyal employment. Services will be held at 1pm on Wednesday November 16, 2016 at Reyers North Valley Chapel (2815 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505). The family will greet visitors at 12pm until the time of service. Interment in Plainfield Township Cemetery.
