Carmen Alicia Colon-Nater

Carmen Alicia Colon-Nater, daughter to Augustina Santiago and Julio Nater, was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on August 29th, 1937.

In 1967, Carmen married Angel Colon Rosario in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. After moving to Chicago, Illinois, Carmen began working in an industrial factory and she was also a devoted and active church member, Bible Study teacher, Deacon and often did volunteer work for her church. She enjoyed many things such as drawing and coloring, crossword puzzles and word searches, and going to church.

She is survived by her daughters: Sonia Colon and Norma Colon, as well as her siblings: Hector, Delia, Junior, Iris, Eduardo, and Luis Nater. She also leaves behind 7 Grandchildren: Jose Rivera, Brian Rivera, Sonia Rivera, William Rivera, Tristin Rivera, Alexander Garcia, and Brandon Garcia. She was able to see her 16 Great Grandchildren and her five Great-Great-Grandchildren. Carmen is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and close friends. Carmen went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 26th, 2021 at the age of 83 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Augustina and Julio, her husband, Angel, and her son, Luis Anibal.

She is laid to rest being cherished as a devoted Child of God, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and incredible woman.
