

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Jay Gritter in 1988, her sisters; Waneta Bailey, Gloria Nye-Hull, her second husband George Truesdell in 1996, as well as sisters and brothers-in-law. Surviving are her children; Donald (Debra) Gritter, Diane (Gary) DeMaagd, David Gritter, Dennis (Julie) Gritter and Duane (Michelle) Gritter, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. She also leaves behind many cherished friends at Ambrose Ridge Apartments where she lived for 25 years.
Cecelia will be remembered as a loving mom and friend. She proudly raised her 5 children and was very active with the North Park Baptist Church Vacation Bible School where she was also a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a member of the Silvertones choir, the Northview Senior Program, the Creston Auxiliary 3023, American Legion Auxiliary 258 and in March of 1999 she joined the North Park Presbyterian Church. Cecelia enjoyed dancing at the Creston VFW Post, Casino Club as well as the American Legion Boat and Canoe Club. She could be found reading a good book, enjoying her music, knitting, working puzzles, or tending to her plants.
Please join her family for Visitation on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave N.E., Grand Rapids, Michigan 49505. Additional Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at North Park Presbyterian Church, 500 North Park St NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment in Blythefield Memory Gardens.
