Charles "Bill" Sommer

Charles “Bill” Sommer, aged 90 of Comstock Park, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, December 4, 2015. Bill was born in the Summer of 1925 to Robert and Myrtle Sommer. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Belva M. (McNeely) and granddaughter, Kelly-Anne Dard and all of his four siblings. Surviving are his children, Ann and Richard Dard of Comstock Park, Tracy and Michelle Sommer of Friendswood, TX. ; Grandchildren, Jennifer and Stanley Snellink, Susan Dard, Kelly Woodall, Lauren Sommer, and Kaylyn Sommer; 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a dedicated employee of 32 years with General Motors at the Fisher Body Plant retiring from his position as a Quality Control General Foreman in 1981. Bill and Belva both enjoyed traveling, camping, boating and fishing. Bill and Belva attended North Park Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held 12PM Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Reyers North Valley with visitation prior beginning at 10AM until the time of service. Bill will be laid to rest next to Belva in the Carp Lake Township Cemetery in the Spring of 2016.
