Cheryl Ann Chalmers

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Joyce Helderop, her sister Debra Norder and her father-in-law Cecil Chalmers.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Craig; her daughters Catherine Hernandez and Amy Chalmers, her son Colin Chalmers; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; her brother John Helderop, her sister Karen (Roger) VanHoughten; her mother-in-law and Shipshewana shopping pal Beverly Lilly; her brothers-in-law: Eric Norder, Cam (Denise) Chalmers and Cary (Carrie) Chalmers, and many nieces and nephews.

Cheryl spent most of her working career in the food and drink service industry. She spent 30+ years working at the Peninsular Club and 15+ years at the Boat and Canoe Club as well as many other private clubs that number too many to list. After retirement, she and Craig were active in the Grand Rapids Antique Car Club, going to many parades and retirement home visits.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to thank the Nurses and Staff of Interim Health Hospice for all of their help keeping Cheryl as comfortable as possible in her final weeks.
