Obituary of Chris Edwards
Chris Edwards died unexpectedly at the too-young age of 63. He was a kindhearted, quick-witted, intelligent, funny, sarcastic, and intensely private person who loved all animals and some people. He never married but came close a few times and was a chronic workaholic. After surgery and in acute pain, he still managed to quip, “Tell them I might be late for work tomorrow.” A true entrepreneurial spirit, Chris owned several businesses, including The Decorating Department in Howard City, which he owned for 35 years, Clean Master, and others. Most recently, he applied his considerable knowledge of motor vehicles and the auto industry as a sales rep for Koehn Ford in Greenville. A collector who loved learning, Chris had hundreds of books on a wide range of subjects, and a wall full of certificates and degrees from educational institutions and training centers. Chris was very, very deeply loved and will be sorely missed. Those who wish to honor his memory can donate to Animal Rescue Coalition in Big Rapids, Michigan, in his name. Fond remembrances and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Edwards family. He is survived by his sisters Sandra Edwards (Bob Cebelak), Debra Edwards, Susan Edwards (Michael English), Kellie VanWyck (Tom), nephews William Zimmer (Theresa), Keith Zimmer, Mark Zimmer, and niece Courtney Moore. He was preceded in death by his mother Virginia Josephine and Rex W. Edwards.
