Cloyde was a best friend in high school before enlisting in the Navy.  He  served our country during some very critical times and came back a solid and confident young man. He will be greatly missed for his wit and caring qualities. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Onalee and family, I want to express my deepest sympathies to you on the passing of your husband and father.   May God's peace and Grace be with you all!   Over 20 years ago I met Cloyde Cady when I joined the HouseMaster inspection team.  He was my primary trainer and soon became a special friend.  He took me under his wing and if I ever ran into something I had never seen before or didn't know what its function was when inspecting a home I could give Cloyde a call and he would patiently explain and educate me on what it was and how it worked.  We would rendezvous between inspections where I could pick his brain and learn the skills of the trade that only a man of his experience could impart.  Cloyde was a man of many words and there were times that I didn't have to say a word and just sit and listen.  He always had a joke, story or some words of wisdom.  The best advice he ever gave me was when he said "Daryl, if you never say no, when asked to do something, your YES isn't as valuable!". That advice was given in the context of being asked to work on weekends but I have come to learn it applies to all areas of life.  In one of my early days of working with Cloyde he gave me a bag of Gevalia coffee and a stainless steel scoop.  Every morning from that day on I have used that scoop to put my coffee grounds into my coffee maker.  Cloyde passed away on Thursday, July, 29.  He was 78 years old.  I will miss him and each morning when I scoop out my coffee I will thank God I had the opportunity to know and learn from him.  I can truly say I would not be half the inspector I am today or as good of a person if I had never met Cloyde!  Rest in peace, my friend, I will miss you!!
