Darwin K. Richards, age 81, died Friday, February 21, 2014. Mr. Richards was born February 22, 1932 in Manistique, Michigan the son of Walter and Erma Richards. Darwin served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the NRA. Darwin was a mechanic and had owned his own trucking company. Surviving are his children, Jeffrey (Melissa) Richards, Kimberly (Richard) Mouser; grandchildren, Brandon, Matthew, Allison Richards, Tina Gerrits, Adam Gaertner; great grandchildren, Jack and Jonathan; brother, Rodney Richards; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Richards was preceded in death by his wife Audrie Richards in 2005. Friends may visit the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Reyers North Valley Chapel. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the funeral home. Reverend John Lowder will officiate. Burial will follow at Blythefield Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Easter Seals or the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
