Dolly Jean Blackburn, aged 95 of Jacksonville, NC., formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 11, 2011 in Jacksonville, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. Blackburn, her sisters and brothers, May Brewer, Mary Justice, Frank, James, Oliver, and Lee Keathley. Surviving are her children, Helen and John Sweers, Linda and Tony Davis; Grandchildren, Debra and Robert Zieger, Michael and Janice Sweers, Dianna and Todd Alderman, Amy and David Evans, Kimberly Talley, Tony and Andrea Davis, Rebecca and Michael Wheeler, and Susan Davis; 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. Her sister, Rosa May, brothers, Robert Keathley, Edward and Nel Keathley, many nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Reyers North Valley Chapel. Interment in Blythefield Memory Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet her family at the chapel one hour prior to the service Friday. For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Kids' Food Basket.
