Dorothea Louise Van Oort, 97, of Grand Rapids, passed away Monday afternoon, February 28th, 2011 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus. She was born July 26th, 1913 in Grand Rapids, and was the daughter of the late Erle & Mae (Davis) Isabell. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Northview Senior Citizens Center, and Second Congregational Church. Dorothea is survived by her two sons, Gary Erle (Jo Anne) and Robert Wayne Van Oort; three grandchildren, Susan, James (Erika), and Gary P. VanOort; six great-grandchildren, Kendra Lyons, Jennifer, Sean, Kayla, Gary Christopher, and Makay; a sister-in-law Eleanor Isabell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wilfred Van Oort in 1985; three brothers, William, Wayne, and Keith Isabell. Private Graveside Services will be in Fairplains Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the organization of the donor’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Reyers North Valley Chapel.
