Dorothy Jean McClure, aged 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband Ivan, her parents Thomas and Edith Van Lew, and her brother Gerald Van Lew. Dorothy is survived by her children Eric (Ruth) McClure, Laura (Butch) Shick, Greg (Lynne) McClure, William (Susan) McClure, and David (Beth) McClure; her 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Throughout her life Dorothy was passionate gardener. She also had a love of animals, especially horses and her many pets. Per the family’s wishes cremation has taken place. Please join Dorothy’s family in celebrating her life during a Memorial Service at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church (1025 Three Mile Road NE Grand Rapids, MI) on August 2, 2014 at 12:00 noon. A public visitation will precede the service being at 11:00 AM. Following the service interment will take place in the gardens at Saint Andrew’s were Dorothy will be buried with her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Ivan.
